For the launch of our new service within TÜV AUSTRIA Belgium, we are looking for an Inspector for Steam Boilers and Pressure Equipment.
You will be responsible for helping to develop this service and, in the longer term, for managing and steering it.
You will carry out periodic inspections of steam boilers, as well as inspections at commissioning or after repair.
You handle inspection assignments independently and report your findings accurately.
You perform inspections with a focus on identifying corrosion, erosion, and other forms of material degradation.
Key Responsibilities
Performing periodical inspections of steam boilers in compliance with applicable legislation
Carrying out inspections at commissioning and after repair or modification
Independently executing, following up, and completing inspection assignments
Conducting inspections aimed at detecting corrosion, erosion, and other forms of material degradation
Clearly and accurately reporting inspection results and observations
Advising customers on safety, compliance, and improvement measures
Actively contributing to the development and expansion of the new inspection service
Safeguarding impartiality, independence, and objectivity in all activities
Acting as a technical point of contact for customers and colleagues
What do you bring to the table?
You have experience performing periodic inspections on steam equipment.
You are familiar with the relevant codes and standards for inspections in the petrochemical industry.
You have completed a technical education or possess equivalent experience.
Experience with inspections of gas or hazardous substance containers (VLAREM) and/or inspections within the framework of the PED is a strong asset.
You are proficient with common IT tools (Office, etc.).
You speak and write fluent Dutch (mandatory) and English; knowledge of French is a plus.
You are tactful, diplomatic, and persuasive.
Reliability, strong communication skills, perseverance, open-mindedness, and independence are key traits that define you.
You have a strong focus on safety and encourage others to work safely as well.
You safeguard the impartiality and independence of your work.
